DiamondJacks is the victim of an epidemic. The casino will remain closed

While many land-based casinos in the US and around the world are preparing to open or have already opened, someone will not return from quarantine. One of the victims of Covid-19 was the DiamondJacks Casino & Hotel in Bossier, Louisiana.

On May 15, the establishment announced that it would no longer open after the forced quarantine measures ended. The reason was called "the unexpected impact of the coronavirus." The company said it has already notified employees and they can apply for unemployment benefits.

At the moment, employees are working on a closure plan, and it has not yet been decided what fate awaits the casino assets. But the company decided that they would not look for a new owner, and would not look for new investments to reopen.

At the same time, there is a joyful revival in the land-based gambling industry across the country. Many gambling establishments are ready to rush into battle and start earning after about two months of inactivity. And in the first casinos that opened, there was a good demand. People traveled from afar, to the very opening, stood in line just to get inside.

However, some Vegas businesses have decided not to open as soon as the government gives the green light, but to wait until business is established and tourists return to the city.
